It looked insignificant, but then Cade Horton was walking off the mound and out of the game.

He had thrown a pitch in the second inning Saturday in Cleveland and exited with the Chicago Cubs‘ training staff. It wasn’t immediately clear what happened.

After the game, Horton shared some of the scoop with reporters.

Horton said that he felt tightness in his right (throwing) wrist that shifted up into his forearm.

He’s hopeful that he caught it early before doing something worse, but imaging will be done to determine the full extent of the situation.

And the biggest piece of info shared: Horton is going on the 15-day Injured List.

The Cubs will have to figure out how to get through three turns in the rotation, at least, without Horton.

But if Horton came away from this unscathed without further major damage, that’ll still feel like a win for Chicago.

For now, Cubs fans will all hope their young pitcher turns out to be OK.
