The Atlanta Braves have had a nice start to the 2026 campaign, going 5-2. On paper, the Braves still seem to be a very decent team, though there will be some problems that continue to arise for this organization if they don’t go out and add the necessary arms to compete at the highest level.

Offensively, the Braves should be more than fine. The question continuing to be a problem in Atlanta will be centered around what they do on the mound, and Austin Owens of FanSided predicted them to fix that by landing Joe Ryan in a deal with the Minnesota Twins at the trade deadline.

“Atlanta’s offense is good enough to at least keep them afloat until the deadline rolls around, but at least one more arm is needed behind Chris Sale (and potentially Spencer Strider, if he can stay healthy and return to his 2023-2024 form). Joe Ryan of the Minnesota Twins was an All-Star last season and finished the year with a 13-10 record alongside his 3.42 ERA. The 29-year-old righty struck out 194 batters in 171 innings, displaying how explosive his stuff can be.”

There have been rumors that Ryan has been available over the past few years. It remains uncertain if the Twins actually want to trade him, but there’s not much of a reason for Minnesota to keep any talent around at this point. It already sits at 1-4 on the season, and things will likely only get worse as the year goes on. Getting some decent prospects back for Ryan should be the plan.
