COLUMBIA – The University of South Carolina baseball team went 2-2 on the week, defeating Wofford in seven innings and winning Thursday’s game against No. 2 Texas.

Will Craddock had three multi-hit games this week, which included a pair of home runs and seven RBI. Craddock hit a three-run home run and had an RBI single which ended the game in an 11-1, seven-inning win over Wofford. Craddock then had a pair of hits and drove in two in the 9-1 win over No. 2 Texas on Thursday. He had a double and a solo home run in Friday’s game against the Longhorns. Craddock leads Carolina with a .308 batting average this season with seven home runs and 22 RBI.
Talmadge LeCroy shot up the career bases on balls mark this weekend after walking four times in the Texas series. He has now walked 125 times as a Gamecock, which is tied for seventh all-time with Mac White (1991-94). He’s five walks away from being in a tie for fourth place. Justin Smoak holds the all-time bases on balls mark with 151.
KJ Scobey had a pair of doubles in the 9-1 win over Texas on Thursday and now has 15 on the season. That mark leads the SEC. Scobey has added 17 runs scored, four home runs and 20 RBI this season.
Brandon Stone went seven innings of relief in Friday’s game against the Longhorns. He struck out six and allowed just two runs in the no-decision. He threw 66 strikes in his 85 pitches. On the year, Stone is 3-1 with a 3.11 ERA and 36 strikeouts.
Carolina wraps up its homestand on Tuesday night, welcoming the College of Charleston. The Gamecocks then travel to Missouri for a Thursday through Saturday series. Thursday’s game is televised on ESPNU.
