The Alabama Crimson Tide are back home for the week beginning Tuesday with a midweek matchup against the Samford Bulldogs. Alabama (25-8) is one of the hottest teams in college baseball, having won 10 of its last 11 games. The Crimson Tide took two of three from the Oklahoma Sooners over the weekend in Norman for their third straight SEC series victory.

Alabama is ranked as high as No. 7 in this week’s top 25 rankings from Perfect Game and is No. 9 in the new USA TODAY Sports Baseball Coaches Poll. The Crimson Tide are coming off a 3-1 week that included a 3-2 victory in Saturday’s series finale at Oklahoma and a 4-3 win at Jacksonville State in their last midweek contest. Alabama is batting .265 as a team, which ranks 13th in the SEC, but its pitching has been outstanding. Crimson Tide hurlers have combined for a 3.63 ERA that ranks fourth in the conference and 14th nationally.

Brady Neal (.367/.471/.633), who hit the go-ahead home run in the top of the ninth inning of the win over Jacksonville State, leads Alabama at the plate, followed by Bryce Fowler’s .361/.484/.541 slash line. Consensus MLB first-round draft pick Justin Lebron is batting .262 with a team-high 11 home runs in 33 games.
