The Mets had a day off on Monday, as they returned from the West Coast. Over the weekend they played a four-game series against the San Francisco Giants, winning three of the final four. All three wins were lopsided in the Mets’ favor, with scores of 10-3, 9-0, and 5-2.

However, the Mets will have to try to keep this winning streak going without star outfielder Juan Soto. On Monday the team placed Soto on the 10-day IL due to a right calf strain.

On the other side is a Diamondbacks team that was at home over the weekend. After dropping the first two games of their series against the Atlanta Braves, they came back and won the second two by one-run margins, including a 6-5 win in 10 innings on Sunday. They were also off on Monday.
