The Blue Jays recalled Fitzgerald from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old was acquired from the Giants over the weekend and will quickly join the big-league roster with Addison Barger (ankle) landing on the injured list. Fitzgerald will provide some depth as a utility man but shouldn’t be expected to receive regular playing time while up with the Blue Jays.
