Cleveland pitchers held KC to just one hit.
Cleveland starter Gavin Williams went a solid 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run, 5 walks and fanning eight.
Before the game, Cleveland placed SS Gabriel Arias on the injured list with a hamstring injury.
Rookie Juan Brito replaced him in the lineup and collected his first big-league hit.
They wrap up the 3-game series Wednesday at 1:10 p.m.
