A fan made an embarrassing blunder during the ninth inning of the Cubs‘ win against the Rays.

Cubs third baseman Matt Shaw, 24, was facing a 1-1 count with two outs.

Rays star Yoendrys Gómez, 26, then threw a 93-mile-per-hour pitch at the Cubs hitter.

Shaw’s hit went wide right, with one fan rushing to collect the foul ball.

NBC makes broadcast change for Sunday Night Baseball as Yankees icon on board

Broadcast cameras panned into the stands at the Rays’ recently reopened Tropicana Field.

A fan was spotted scrambling for the loose ball near their seat before a nightmare reveal.

The fan’s pants then appeared to accidentally drop as they looked to the floor.

This resulted in the fan full-mooning the entire stadium and television broadcast.

Unfortunately for the fan, the moment was not missed by the game’s broadcast team on Marquee Sports Network.

“Everybody OK down there?” Cubs analyst Jim Deshaies, 65, said.

Meanwhile, play-by-play announcer Jon Sciambi, 55, stayed quiet as a period of silence followed the awkward moment.

Fans have also taken to social media to enjoy the unexpected moment.

“Turns out Artemis 2 didn’t even have to leave Florida,” one fan said on X.

“Oh no, no no no no no no no,” another commented.

It was just the Rays’ second game back at Tropicana Field after a $55 million repair job.

The Rays had been forced to temporarily relocate for the 2025 season because of damage caused by Hurricane Milton.

They claimed a 6-4 win in their first home game against the Cubs on Monday, before losing 9-2 a day later.

Their three-game series will conclude at Tropicana Field on Wednesday, April 8.
