The Los Angeles Dodgers are aiming for a sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays after two straight wins in Canada.

Billed as “The Greatest World Series Ever” rematch, the April series was meant to feel like a playoff matchup early on in the season; however, the Dodgers have, for the most part, dominated Toronto.

The Dodgers have only allowed three runs over two games, while scoring 18 in that span.

A lot of that massive margin has to do with the fact that the Dodgers beat the Jays 14-2 in the first game of the series, but other than the bases being loaded in the bottom of the seventh on Tuesday, the Dodgers have been ahead early and often.

On Wednesday, the Dodgers get the chance to take total bragging rights and keep their positive momentum going with back-to-back sweeps.

Dodgers lineup vs. Blue Jays on Wednesday

1. Shohei Ohtani, DH
2. Kyle Tucker, RF
3. Will Smith, C
4. Freddie Freeman, 1B
5. Max Muncy, 3B
6. Teoscar Hernandez, LF
7. Andy Pages, CF
8. Alex Freeland, 2B
9. Miguel Rojas, SS

P. Shohei Ohtani, RHP

Miguel Rojas, after missing Tuesday’s game due to a family matter, is back in the lineup at shortstop with Hyeseong Kim moving back to the bench.

Rojas announced that his father had passed away, leading him to miss the game. Mookie Betts remains out of the lineup with his oblique injury, which is opening the door for Alex Freeland to get playing time at second base on a consistent basis.

The Dodgers are facing Dylan Cease on the opposing mound, a right-hander who has elite stuff and, when he is clicking, could shut down Los Angeles’ offensive buzzsaw.

With him on the mound, Max Muncy gets a pump up the order, and Teoscar Hernandez goes down a peg, giving the Dodgers four lefties out of the first five hitters against Cease.

The bottom of the order features a glut of right-handers, other than the switch-hitting Alex Freeland.

Ohtani will do his double duty once, pitching, then quickly changing into his batting gear for a plate appearance in the first inning.

The Japanese sensation wants a Cy Young, and this high-profile series is the perfect stage to make his case for the award.
