CINCINNATI (WKRC) – When Reds rookie Sal Stewart belted a two-run homer in the fifth inning of Wednesday’s game at the Miami Marlins he accomplished a feat last done in franchise history by a player who eventually made it into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
The home run was Stewart’s third of the season making him the first rookie in franchise history to hit that many in the first 12 games of a season since Frank Robinson in 1956.
Robinson went on to hit 38 home runs that season and was voted as National League Rookie of the Year.
