No. 8 Florida State baseball (29-11, 12-6 ACC) is traveling to Palo Alto for a conference matchup against the Stanford Cardinal (17-19, 7-11 ACC). FSU is in third place in the ACC standings and is looking to make another run in the NCAA Tournament.
Baseball America’s bracketology of the field of 64 seems to agree with this sentiment, as in their rankings, Florida State remains a No. 1 seed, as they have for most of the season.
FSU is projected to host the Tallahassee regionals as the No. 11 overall seed and would host Missouri State, Tennessee, and North Florida. They just faced the North Florida Ospreys and defeated them 4-1. They faced Tennessee in the College World Series in 2024, so that would certainly be an intriguing matchup if it were to become a reality. Other notable No. 1 seeds expected to host regionals include UCLA, Texas, North Carolina, and Georgia Tech.
The Seminoles are 32-48 in the NCAA tournament rounds. Their season continues on Friday when they face Stanford. Fans can catch that game on Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on the ACC Network Extra.
