The Blue Jays took on the Athletics with Bassitt on the mound yesterday and despite a win, Bassitt gave up 7 hits and 5 earned runs in 5 innings pitched which he clearly was not pleased with.

After the game, Bassitt stated in an interview that he believe that he has been playing terrible lately and knows that he can be a lot more consistent as his ERA currently sits at 3.80 in 66.1 innings pitched this season.

Bassitt was on fire to start the season as he had a 0.77 ERA in his first 4 starts on the season with 31 strikeouts in 23.1 innings pitched and he continued on a great pace for a while but his last few games have definitely been a bit worse.Chris Bassitt through 4 starts:

31 K
0.77 ERA
1.07 WHIP

At the end of the day, the Blue Jays got the win last night but Bassitt is right that if they want to make a real push for the playoffs, they need him to be on the top of his game.
