This is just getting outrageous. Cam Cannarella with another gold glove play in CF. Truly one of the best defensive CF’s in college baseball history pic.twitter.com/HmNUC6n3hD

Barring something unexpected, top MLB draft prospect Cam Cannarella is playing in his final games as a member of the Clemson Tigers after an outstanding collegiate career.
Whenever Clemson baseball’s season ends, Cannarella is all but certain to turn pro after being a projected first-round pick in this year’s MLB draft since before the season even began.
The junior outfielder is the biggest spark in the Tigers’ lineup and has played in all but two games this season. He’s batting .301 with 19 extra base hits and an OPS of .893 through 47 games. In the outfield, Cannarella has made one highlight reel play after another, including two over the weekend at Florida State when he robbed Alex Lodise of a home run and later hit an inside-the-park home run.
In three seasons at Clemson, Cannarella has hit .347 with 20 home runs, 47 doubles and is 28-of-38 in stolen base attempts. He has a combined on-base percentage of .442 through 164 games.
On Tuesday, USA TODAY Sports unveiled its new 2025 MLB mock draft. Cannarella was projected as the No. 23 overall pick by the Kansas City Royals.
A year ago, Clemson had five players taken in the 2024 MLB draft headlined by second baseman Blake Wright in the fourth round (106th overall) to the Colorado Rockies. Right-hander Austin Gordon was selected by the Los Angeles Angels four picks later, and outfielder Will Taylor and left-hander Tristan Smith went to the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds, respectively, in the fifth round.
Left-hander Rocco Reid was a 15th round pick by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Clemson (37-12), ranked No. 9 in this week’s USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, faces No. 14 Coastal Carolina (37-11) Tuesday at Springs Brooks Stadium in Conway. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.
