The Los Angeles Dodgers destroyed the New York Yankees, 18-2, on Saturday to forcefully take the second game of the World Series rematch. L.A. moved to 36-22 on the year.
Ahead of the eventual slugfest, the Dodgers added a new catcher to the team, but transferred All-Star Tyler Glasnow to the 60-day injured list. The right-hander is still dealing with shoulder inflammation as the move is retroactive to his original IL placement (April 28).
Additionally, the Pittsburgh Pirates are urged to consider a blockbuster trade and deal Paul Skenes to the Dodgers. The kind of return that Pittsburgh could get for their ace would be plenty, but a talent like Skenes doesn’t come around very often.
Finally, the official reason for Mookie Betts’ injury has been revealed by the team. Hyeseong Kim started in place of Betts at shortstop during the Saturday evening pounding at Dodger Stadium.

Hyeseong Kim just hit his second home run of the year for the Dodgers. Kim is hitting .381 in 45 PAs with a 175 wRC+. Kim hit a career-high 11 home runs in the KBO in ’24 averaging a HR every 51 PAs. Dodgers have to love what they’ve seen from Kim.
