The Atlanta Braves are going to go righty-heavy against Garrett Crochet (complimentary).

For the Braves, Ozzie Albies hasn’t exactly been himself this season against lefties, but today would be a good day to get going in that direction along with a lineup that skews heavily to the right to take on Garrett Crochet. For his career, Albies hits .333/.356/.548 for a 139 wRC+ against left-handers as a right-handed batter. He doesn’t walk much, but he doesn’t strike out much along with hitting for a ton of power. In 2025, he’s hitting .246/.266/.311, which is good enough for a 57 wRC+, in the same situations. It’s 64 plate appearances, so it’s not exactly a huge sample size. But getting going on that side would be nice for today along with getting him back to the production overall that we normally expect from him.
The Red Sox counter with a fairly standard lineup for them. Over the winter, Trevor Story was an under-the-radar but somewhat frequent rumor tied to the Atlanta Braves needing an improvement at shortstop. Story’s story is fairly well-known – he was a top prospect made good by the Rockies, but injuries have seemingly sapped the former All-Star into a more average(ish) level player. He makes a lot of money, but the chance at getting an All-Star at the SS position at what would have been a bargain price gave a lot of memories of stealing Chris Sale. Story so far in 2025 is hitting .219/.263/.330 with an ugly Statcast to match. Ah well.
