We’ve officially made it, folks. It’s officially June 1st and the Colorado Rockies are still looking for their elusive 10th win of the season. They remain 9-49 on the entire season, and are 3-27 on the road. They are 0-5 on this current road trip with a three-game set against the Miami Marlins set to start tomorrow to conclude it.

To be fair, four of the five losses were by two or fewer runs (they lost 8-2 last night). They have lost five of their last six games by two or fewer runs since May 25th, which is a far cry from some of the beatdowns they had earlier in this season. So yes, they are still losing; however, things appear more competitive.

Carson Palmquist (0-3, 8.78 ERA) will take the mound this morning for the Rox. In his last outing against the Chicago Cubs on Monday, Palmquist threw five innings and allowed two runs on three hits with three walks and four strikeouts in the 3-1 defeat. It was his best outing to date after getting shelled by the Philadelphia Phillies at Coors Field just five days earlier.

Palmquist will face Mets’ veteran right-hander Clay Holmes (5-3, 2.98 ERA). In his last outing against the Chicago White Sox on May 26th, Holmes allowed just one run on four hits with three walks and three strikeouts over 5 2⁄3 innings. Holmes has been primarily used as a reliever in his career, but has made 11 starts for the Mets this season, including Opening Day. He had not started an MLB game since he pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2018. Holes has faced the Rockies six times in relief and holds a 1.17 ERA and 1.565 WHIP.

Will the Rockies get their 10th win today? Tune in to find out!
