The Orioles placed Ryan Mountcastle on the 15-day injured list and recalled No.2 prospect Coby Mayo from Triple-A Norfolk. Baltimore has also selected outfielder Jordyn Adams from Norfolk and has designated catcher Chadwick Tromp for assignment.

Mayor has struggled in his appearances for the Orioles over the past two seasons, going 5-for-53 with five walks and 28 strikeouts. The prospect hit well in the minors in 2024, and has slashed .226/.318/.452 with eight homers and 28 RBI in 45 games for Norfolk this season.

Mountcastle left Friday night’s game against the Chicago White Sox with right hamstring discomfort. With this IL announcement, Mountcastle becomes the 12th player currently on the IL for the O’s. In the 2025 season so far, he has hit .246 with two homers and 15 RBI in 52 games.
