ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – The Cardinals optioned center fielder Victor Scott II to Triple-A Memphis and recalled Nathan Church from his rehab assignment before opening their series against the Mets.

Scott, who has been struggling offensively, did not join the Cardinals in New York.
Church is returning from his rehab assignment.
