PHOENIX (AZFamily/AP) — The game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the St. Louis Cardinals scheduled for Thursday night was postponed due to rain.
The game will be made up on July 23, which was previously an open day for both clubs.
After the postponement, D-backs closer Paul Sewald posted on social media, blaming the Cardinals’ staff for not moving the game ahead in the day to avoid the rain.
No you’re right thank you @Cardinals for not moving our game up to this afternoon when we politely asked given the whole world knew it was going to rain tonight. I actually was really hoping we could lose an off day and turn it into a 4 city road trip 👍🏻

The Diamondbacks announced that they have pushed back their starting rotation. Zac Gallen, who was scheduled to start on Thursday, will start Friday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
The Cardinals announced that Thursday’s starter Michael McGreevy will start Friday at Miami.
