CHEYENNE – Cheyenne Extreme’s under-18 softball team went 1-2 on the final day of the Wyoming USSSA state tournament to finish third.

Cheyenne (28-12-1) started the day with an 8-7 victory over Wyoming Mystix from Sheridan. The Extreme trailed 7-2 before scoring six runs in the fourth inning. Clare Schlothauer’s two-rune home run put Cheyenne ahead before the time limit expired.

Schlothauer was 2-for-3 on the day. Kami Harris was 2-of-2 with a double and two RBI. Taylor Hollibaugh went 1-of-1 and drove in two runs. Lexi Luethy was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI.

Jaleigh Bohac and Gabriella Doughty both had doubles.

Cheyenne followed with 7-4 loss to the Laramie Lightning. Laramie led 4-3 after the second inning before pushing three runs across in the third to take control.

Schlothauer and Madelyn Artery were both 2-for-3 with an RBI. Both of Schlothauer’s hits were doubles. Kalissa Terrell also notched a double.

The Extreme were eliminated from the tournament with an 18-3 loss to Sheridan. The Mystix took control from the start, scoring four runs in the first inning. They added 10 in the fifth.

Bohac had a triple and drove home a run. Brooklyn Lake and Landri Vaughn also had a single and an RBI each.
