The Yankees (-190) are just a little too pricey for my liking, as my personal limit for a singular moneyline wager is -180. If you have a boost or promo, it might be worth backing, but playing New York and risking nearly 2 times your potential return is not a recommended play.

PASS.

Playing YANKEES -1.5 (+106) is a much better value at plus-money. Rodon has been money this season, and the southpaw knows the Guardians well from his days starting out with the Chicago White Sox. Now, he has a powerful offense backing up his strong pitching, providing him with ample win opportunities.

Bibee, who was expected to the team’s Opening Day starter before a bout with food poisoning, has pitched well for Cleveland. However, he has struggled with control and consistency on the road and hasn’t been the same guy away from his home bump.

UNDER 8 (-104) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at best.

The Guardians are likely to struggle against the southpaw Rodon on the road, although they did beat him earlier in the season. Cleveland cashed low in 2 of 3 games against the Angels over the weekend, and the Under is 7-2 in the past 9 games on the road for the Guardians.

The concern with an Under play is Bibee against the Yankees. Yes, he did beat them in Cleveland back in April, but he’s been far less dependable on the road. The Yankees cashed high in 3 straight against the Dodgers over the weekend, but the Under is 6-1 in the past 7 games at home. And, the Under has hit in 3 straight starts by Rodon, while going 6-2 in his past 8 assignments.
