It’s been a noteworthy summer for former Tennessee baseball standout Billy Amick. Minnesota traded Amick at the trade deadline but Amick keeps putting up massive numbers.
Amick blasted his 30th home run of the season on Saturday night and is now tied for seventh in all of Minor League Baseball in home runs this season. After driving in three runs against Portland on Saturday night, Amick has 94 RBIs this season.

Amick has put up massive numbers over the course of the season. He’s slashing .225/.345/.521 with his 30 home runs, 15 doubles and 94 RBIs. While his average is low, Amick has worked an abundance of walks and is slugging at a high-rate. Over a full 162 games, Amick is on pace to hit 50 home runs and drive in 155 runs.

The third baseman is particularly on a tear since Minnesota traded him to the New York Mets in late July. In just 12 games in Binghamton, Amick is slashing .304/.396/.783 with seven home runs and 22 RBIs.
Minnesota traded Amick to the Mets along with minor leaguer Benny Agbayani in a deal for left-handed relief pitcher A.J. Minter.
The Twins previously selected Amick in the second round of the 2024 MLB Draft. Amick began his college career at Clemson before transferring to Tennessee for his senior season.
Amick made the most of his lone season in Knoxville, hitting .306 with 23 home runs, 38 extra-base hits and 65 RBIs while helping lead Tennessee to the first national championship in program history. The third baseman put up the impressive numbers while missing multiple weeks in the regular season with an appendectomy.
