Pete Crow-Armstrong has stolen bases in bunches this year.

He stole 12 in 13 attempts over the Cubs’ first 27 games. Over that time he hit five home runs.
Then he turned on the power and, for a time, turned off the baserunning. Over the Cubs’ next 27 games, PCA stole just two bases in four attempts — but hit nine home runs.
The Cubs have played a total of 60 games and PCA has seven steals in games 55-60, without being caught in that span.
His 21 total steals leads the National League and is tied with Luis Robert Jr. for the most in MLB.
Thus this week’s question: How many steals will PCA end up with? Remember, no Cubs player has stolen 60 bases in a season since Frank Chance set the franchise record with 67 in 1903. That’s one hundred and twenty-two years ago! Since then, there have been 124 other player-seasons with 60 or more steals, most recently by Elly De La Cruz (67 last year for the Reds). Of those 124 player-seasons, 23 were by players who at one time or another played for the Cubs (Lou Brock, 7; Kenny Lofton, 4; Davey Lopes, 2; Willie Wilson, 2; Tony Womack, 2; Miguel Dilone, 1; Tom Goodwin, 1; Bill North, 1; Rodney Scott, 1; Jonathan Villar, 1; and Eric Yelding, 1).

Will PCA get there? Submit your response and the results will be published later this week.
