Royals Crown Center ballpark rezoning proposal heads back to committee
KANSAS CITY, Mo. —
A proposed Royals ballpark district rezoning ordinance near Crown Center is heading back to committee.
The Kansas City Council on Thursday re-referred an ordinance that would rezone about 68 acres south of Pershing Road and north of East 27th Street to allow for a ballpark district.
The ordinance had received a “Do Pass, Debate” recommendation from the Finance Committee before the council sent it back to the Finance, Governance and Public Safety Committee.
The proposal is scheduled to return to the committee Sept. 22.
Documents attached to the ordinance specifically identify the project as the “Royals Crown Center Ballpark District” and include a presentation from the Royals.
