KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – After nearly a month in Omaha, reliever Lucas Erceg has been recalled to the Kansas City Royals MLB roster.
The Royals announced Monday that Erceg had been called back up to the MLB roster after he was optioned to Triple-A on Aug. 18.
Nearly a month in Triple-A resulted in Erceg pitching in nine games for the Storm Chasers. In 10.1 innings, Erceg had a 1.74 ERA and 13 strikeouts.
In a corresponding move, Kansas City sent right-handed reliever Easton McGee back to Triple-A.
Erceg struggled throughout the 2026 season for Kansas City, which resulted in the organization sending him down. The 31-year-old is in his third season with the Royals after being acquired in a trade with the Athletics in 2024. This year, he’s had a 6.23 ERA and a 1.89 WHIP in 43.1 innings for Kansas City.
The Royals have 12 games remaining in the 2026 season.
