After a slow start, Kiel scored twice in the third inning and once in the fifth to post a 3-1 WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal win over fifth seeded Winneconne Wednesday afternoon at Kiel.
The game was postponed 24 hours from Tuesday due to inclement weather.
The Raiders sent ace lefty Cade Voelker to the mound and the senior had another fantastic start surrendering his lone run to the Wolves in the second inning.
Voelker also started the third inning comeback reaching on a hit by pitch. Aaron Stephany followed with a double and Colton Schaefer’s base knock brought both Voelker and Stephany in for a 2-1 lead.
Owen Schmit provided an insurance in the fifth when his single scored Schaefer.
Voelker’s line showed a four-hit complete game effort with 11 strike outs.
The fourth seeded Raiders play at top seeded Kewaskum Thursday at 4:30 pm for the regional title and a trip to the Waupaca Sectional on Tuesday.
