The Milwaukee Brewers are back home for a big 10-game homestand that could have major playoff race implications, as they’re welcoming three solid teams in the Padres, Braves, and Cardinals. First up is the San Diego Padres, who are coming off a four-game split with the Giants.

San Diego, at 35-26, currently sits in the second NL Wild Card spot, 1.5 games behind the Phillies and one game ahead of the Giants. They’re also just two games behind the Dodgers for the NL West lead.

The Brewers, at 34-29, are coming off another series win over the Reds, as they’ve now won nine of their last 10 games. They’re currently one game out of the final Wild Card spot held by the Giants.

On the hill for tonight is right-handed rookie Chad Patrick, who has a respectable 2.97 ERA and 3.30 FIP through 13 appearances (12 starts) this season. He’ll be opposed by fellow righty Randy Vásquez, who is in his second season as a full-time starter. Through 12 starts for the Padres, he has a 3.99 ERA and a 5.35 FIP with 35 strikeouts in 58 2⁄3 innings.

Brice Turang is at the top of Milwaukee’s lineup, followed by Jackson Chourio, Christian Yelich, and William Contreras. Sal Frelick bats fifth and starts in right, with Isaac Collins in left batting sixth. Jake Bauers starts at first base as Rhys Hoskins gets the day off, and Caleb Durbin and Joey Ortiz round out the infield and the lineup.

First pitch is at 7:10 p.m. CT on FanDuel Sports Wisconsin and the Brewers Radio Network.
