Seattle Mariners center fielder Julio Rodríguez exited Saturday night’s game against the Los Angeles Angels after being struck in the shin by a line drive off the bat of teammate Randy Arozarena.

Rodríguez was attempting to steal third base in the third inning when Arozarena sent a scorching 98.1 mph line drive toward the hole between shortstop and third base. Rodríguez tried to get out of the way, but the ball hit him on the lower portion of his right shin.
Rodríguez, in obvious pain, began limping around before laying down on the ground near the Angels’ third-base dugout. He remained there for several minutes while being treated by Mariners trainers. He then limped off the field with assistance.
Leody Taveras replaced Rodríguez in center field in the bottom half of the inning.
