The White Sox made it close in Game 2, but the result was another loss, taking a 4-3 defeat to the Royals on Tuesday. The White Sox were up 2-0 before Kyle Isbel hit a homer in the sixth to get back within one. Chicago scored another in the eighth, but the great Salvador Perez drove in a run on a single in the eighth to keep KC in it. Then the bottom of the ninth was absolutely wild for the Royals, as they were able to pull off an amazing comeback. Jonathan India was 1-for-5, but he drove in a run when it counted most, tying the game on an infield single. Then Bobby Witt Jr. made sure the comeback wouldn’t go to waste by getting the walk-off single to center field to send Kansas City off into pandemonium.
The Royals will have a great shot at getting the series sweep by starting Michael Wacha. The veteran righty looks like he is off to a slow start with his 1-4 record, but he has a 3.52 ERA. The White Sox will counter with Jonathan Cannon, who is 2-3 with a 4.26 ERA.
