Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the MLB. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Milwaukee Brewers fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.

In this week’s Reacts survey, we’re asking fans which infield trade candidate they’d like to see the Brewers target with the trade deadline now less than two months away.

While none of the four players we’ve included can be considered “flashy,” I think most would agree that Milwaukee making any trade that is considered “flashy” is all but out of the question. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the potential names we could hear thrown around.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa

Per the USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, IKF is already drawing interest from teams, though it’s unclear who is involved. Kiner-Falefa, 30, is in his eighth MLB season and second with the Pirates after being acquired by Pittsburgh at last year’s trade deadline. While he’s never hit for much power (35 career homers), he provides solid bat-to-ball skills and has gotten on base at a high clip (.315 career OBP, .345 in 2025).

A free agent after this year, he’s making $7.5 million this season, which could be on the verge of being out of Milwaukee’s price range.

Miguel Vargas

An international signee of the Dodgers, Vargas, 25, can play all over the field, with third base and second base his primary positions. He’s spent a good chunk of 2025 as the White Sox’s first baseman as Andrew Vaughn has struggled, and he’s also played in the outfield in previous seasons.

After being acquired in the Erick Fedde-Tommy Edman-Michael Kopech three-team trade last year, he’s improved greatly in 2025, putting together his first positive WAR season. Through 63 games, he’s hitting .237/.319/.421 with a career-high nine homers, 29 RBIs, and 30 runs scored. Still a year and a half away from arbitration, he’ll cost Milwaukee some prospects if they’re truly interested.

Ryan McMahon

A favorite name among Brewers’ fans discussing trades in recent years, McMahon is in his ninth MLB season, all with the Rockies. Primarily a third baseman with some second base and first base experience, McMahon is hitting .213/.322/.362 with seven homers, 18 RBIs, and 24 runs scored this year. Those are slightly below his career line of .241/.324/.418, though his OPS+ has never exceeded 98.

A solid glove-first infielder, he also earned his first All-Star selection last year (albeit as the lone representative for Colorado, a team that hasn’t had more than one player chosen since 2019). McMahon is making $12 million this season, with $16 million to be paid in both 2026 and 2027 before he hits free agency at age 33 in 2028. Another expensive candidate.

Yoán Moncada

Moncada, 30, is in his 10th MLB season and first with the Angels. A former top international prospect, he’s never fully panned out in the majors, but he’s been serviceable. Currently out with knee inflammation and expected to return later this month, he’s played in 30 games this year for the Angels, hitting .237/.336/.505 with six homers, 19 RBIs, and 16 runs scored.

This is the most affordable option on this list, as he’s making just $5 million in 2025 before hitting free agency this offseason.
