SHERMAN — The league-leading Sherman Shadowcats walked off with a win on Friday and rallied for a victory on Saturday to earn a pair of victories over the Piney Woods TimberHogs in Mid-American League action.

The Shadowcats won 12-11 on Friday and 15-8 on Saturday.

Sherman improved to 12-1 with the two wins, while the TimberHogs dropped to 3-11. The teams were scheduled to meet again on Sunday to close out the series.

After a day off on Monday, Piney Woods will travel to Abilene to take on the Flying Bison in four games Tuesday through Friday. The TimberHogs will then return home to take on Fort Smith Saturday and Sunday.

Wyatt Gatlin homered, singled twice and drove in three runs to lead the way for Sherman offensively. Drue Saenz doubled, singled twice and drove in a run. Karson Hastings added a double and two RBI, and Anderson Acinger had two hits and two RBI.

Michael Dudolski worked three innings on the mound for Sherman to earn the win. He struck out four, walked two and allowed no runs on one hit.

C.J. Cepicky homered, singled and drove in three runs for the TimberHogs in the loss. Jared Henchek had two hits and an RBI, and Hunter Southey, Aramis Cruz and Pedro Martinez, Jr. all drove in runs.

Remi Schaber took the pitching loss, giving up six earned runs on seven hits and two walks in three innings.

PineyWoods scored three times in the top of the first, but Sherman answered with five in the bottom half and later had a five-run seventh to put it away.

The TimberHogs led 7-2 after five innings, but had to rally in the ninth with a run to tie things at 11-11, but Karson Atkins delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to give the Shadowcats the walk off win.

Cayden Earnhart homered, singled and drove in three runs for Sherman. Landon Salinas added two doubles, a single and an RBI. Mateo Hernandez doubled, singled and drove in two. Easton Ford doubled, singled twice and added two RBI and Ryan Jones had two hits and two RBI.

Evan Doss went 1.1 innings on the mound for the pitching win.

Hunter Southey had three hits and two RBI for PineyWoods. Garrett Sheffield added two hits. Charles Chenail singled twice and drove in a run, and Aramis Cruz and Kahle Good both singled and drove in runs.

Five TimberHogs saw action on the mound, with Kezlin Doglas taking the loss. He struck out one, walked one and gave up two earned runs on four hits in an inning of action.
