Dodgers Get Encouraging Injury Update on Star Pitchers Ahead Series vs. Padres originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Los Angeles Dodgers’ pitching rotation finally gets some good news.
After watching multiple top-of-the-line starters go down with injury, manager Dave Roberts revealed that right-hander Tyler Glasnow and left-hander Blake Snell are starting to make progress on their recovery before a pivotal series against the San Diego Padres, via Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.

Snell, currently on the 60-day injured list due to shoulder inflammation, threw a “touch and feel” session off the mound over the weekend, according to Roberts. The former two-time Cy Young award winner will also throw a bullpen session on Tuesday.

Snell was asked last week about his potential return against his former team on a recent episode of Dodgers Talk with David Vassegh.
“I think sometime in San Diego is the plan,” Snell said. “They’ll let me know, and I’ll be ready. I’m just excited. I’m throwing, and there’s no pain. I can actually be excited for something. It’s going to come and happen soon.”

While a timeline has not been established for Snell’s return, he is inching closer to toeing the rubber once again. Before injuring his shoulder, he made two starts, allowing two earned runs, but struggled with command, issuing eight walks over nine innings.
Roberts also shared that Glasnow will throw a bullpen session tomorrow in Los Angeles.
“He’s doing really well,” Roberts said. “Very excited and anxious to start facing some hitters, so that’s coming too.”
Roberts did not indicate if Glasnow, also battling shoulder inflammation, is set to join the team at any point during the three-game series in San Diego. However, given that his body did not react well to a bullpen session last week, it is a significant positive step in his recovery.
