Injuries are continuing to mount up as the season progresses, which means the Los Angeles Dodgers will likely be looking to make a deal at the trade deadline for pitching help.

One starting pitcher for their 2024 World Series foe will be returning soon and could be the odd man out in a formidable lineup of starting pitchers.

According to Jake Elman here at Athlon Sports, New York Yankees’ Marcus Stroman could be on the move at the trade deadline as he returns from a knee injury.

“If the Yankees trade Stroman in the coming weeks, their first call should be to the Los Angeles Dodgers,” Elman writes.

The 11-year MLB veteran had a rough beginning to the season in his first three starts, giving up 12 runs across 9 1/3 innings.

Elman believes that because Stroman has been somewhat disappointing in a little over a year with the Yankees, the Dodgers could look for help in a wavering starting lineup.

“Although Stroman may not be the pitcher he once was, the Dodgers need whatever help they can get,” Elman said.

Key injuries to the pitching staff include Roki Sasaki on the 15-day IL, Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow on the 60-day IL, Shoehi Ohtani, Gavin Stone, Emmet Sheehan and River Ryan. The final four of which are yet to play this season.

Because of missing pieces and a lack of production from Landon Knack, who was recently optioned, Elman says things are getting pretty dire for Los Angeles and their quest to repeat as champions.
