The Detroit Tigers finish up their weekend series against the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday afternoon at Comerica Park.<\/p>\n
The Tigers are hoping they can bring a little more excitement on Father\u2019s Day than they did on Saturday afternoon. Similar to what happened in the middle game of their series last week, the Bengals had laid a stinker. This time, giving up six runs in the fifth inning did them in this time around. Unfortunately, Detroit\u2019s offense had almost no answer, leading to an 11-1 loss.<\/p>\n
It was not only the worst loss the Tigers have suffered at home this season, but it was also the most lopsided defeat the team has been dealt overall this year.<\/p>\n
Yet, despite the disappointing result, the Tigers remain atop the American League Central, several games ahead of the second-place Minnesota Twins. The Reds are still fourth in the National League Central, but are doing their part to close the gap on a Wild Card spot.<\/p>\n
