The Toronto Blue Jays got some unexpected news prior to yesterday’s game against the Chicago White Sox as Addison Barger was scratched and after the game manager John Schneider gave an update on the situation.<\/p>\n

Blue Jays announce injury update on Addison Barger<\/p>\n

The Blue Jays decided to scratch Barger<\/a> since he was dealing with some right hip soreness and needed to get some treatment done but ended up being available off the bench which reassured some fans.Addison Barger scratched from Blue Jays lineup with right hip soreness, said John Schneider. He’s getting treatment, unclear if he’s available off bench.<\/p>\n

Max Scherzer will throw a side tomorrow instead of today, still eying one of the three games in Cleveland, said Schneider<\/p>\n

After the game, Schneider spoke on Barger<\/a>‘s injury stating that they wanted to give him the day off to rest up and are hoping that he will be feeling better in a couple of days and should have him back in the lineup very soon.<\/p>\n

Manager John Schneider said Addison Barger \u00abwas good if we needed him,\u00bb but Blue Jays didn’t in 7-1 win. \u00abHopefully he feels a little bit better as the evening goes and into tomorrow and see how it feels. And if he feels good, he’ll be somewhere, whether it’s third or RF.\u00bb<\/p>\n

This is great news for the Blue Jays who have been plagued with injuries this season and with how Barger has been playing since being called up, they simply cannot afford to have him on IL as well.<\/p>\n

Hopefully he only need a few days of rest and will be ready for their series against the Cleveland Guardians which starts on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
