{"id":12559,"date":"2025-05-09T05:41:10","date_gmt":"2025-05-09T05:41:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/12559\/"},"modified":"2025-05-09T05:41:10","modified_gmt":"2025-05-09T05:41:10","slug":"spencer-strider-throws-bullpen-session-eyes-return","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/12559\/","title":{"rendered":"Spencer Strider throws bullpen session, eyes return"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Spencer Strider threw a bullpen session prior to yesterday\u2019s game against the Cincinnati Reds as he continues to progress from the hamstring injury that landed him on the 15-IL on April 21.<\/p>\n<p>He told reporters, including Atlanta\u2019s WSB television sports reporter Alison Mastrangelo, that he\u2019s been able to throw during the process and is working on building back his strength in his hamstring.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Part of Strider\u2019s recovery process was receiving a platelet-rich plasma injection in his hamstring, as noted by the AJC\u2019s Justin Toscano.<\/p>\n<p>Strider and Braves manager Brian Stinker confirmed that Strider will throw another bullpen session in Pittsburgh on Saturday and then he and the team will evaluate whether or not he could rejoin the major league team without a rehab assignment.<\/p>\n<p>There has been some conjecture that the Braves might leverage a six-man starting rotation when Strider returns to action, although nothing is definitive at this point.
