The Marlins had designated Pi\u00f1a for assignment over the weekend. Toronto has an opening on the 40-man roster for now but will reinstate\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/s\/scherma01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.mlbtraderumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-06-24_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Max Scherzer<\/a> from the 60-day injured list tomorrow, so they\u2019ll need to open one roster spot.<\/p>\n<p>It has been a quick turnaround for Pi\u00f1a, who was just selected onto Miami\u2019s 40-man roster last Thursday. He made his big league debut a day later, tossing one inning in a 6-2 win over the Braves.
