The Boston Red Sox recent wave of momentum has come to a screeching halt, as they ended up getting swept by the Los Angeles Angels<\/a> in their recent three-game series. After suffering a 5-2 defeat on Wednesday, manager Alex Cora addressed one of the Red Sox\u2019s biggest issues.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s safe to say that the 2025 campaign has been a bit of a struggle for Boston to this point. Injuries have hampered them on both sides of the ball, they haven\u2019t received consistent production from a handful of players, and they just traded their best hitter, Rafael Devers, to the San Francisco Giants.<\/p>\n

Despite all that, the Sox aren\u2019t exactly dead in the water, although their 40-42 record<\/a> isn\u2019t looking great after losing their past five games, which included three straight defeats against the Angels. Throughout this series, Boston struggled to limit their strikeouts when they were at the plate.<\/p>\n

In their three losses to L.A., the Red Sox struck out a combined 33 times, including 14 on Wednesday. That prompted Cora to address the strikeout woes after this game, simply saying the team needs to figure out a way to improve<\/a> in this department.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you follow us, we\u2019ve been striking out since day one, so we need to make adjustments,\u201d Cora said during his postgame press conference.<\/p>\n

With pretty much everyone striking out for Boston in this series, they struggled to score many runs, as they brought home a combined nine runs in the three-game set. After briefly pushing their record back above the .500 mark, the Red Sox have fallen back into their bad habits during their recent losing streak.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The good news is that there is still a lot of time for Cora and company to turn things around. They are beginning to get healthy, and the more time that goes on, the more they will get used to playing without Devers anchoring their lineup.<\/p>\n

In order to do that, though, the Red Sox are going to have to put this series in the rearview mirror quickly.
