Padres minor league affiliates went a perfect 6-0 on Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kyle Hart<\/a> \u2013 6 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 6 K (93 pitches \u2013 62 strikes)<\/p>\n

Kyle Hart made one of his best starts of the season, allowing two runs in six innings of work. Saturday\u2019s start marked the second time in three starts that Hart has struck out six batters. Hart would have allowed another run, but a tremendous leaping grab from Forrest Wall<\/a> brought back a home run.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Logan Gillaspie<\/a> returned to the mound but allowed three runs in 1.2 innings. All three runs came on a pair of homers, with a two-run homer from Shay Whitcomb<\/a> tying the game at five. Bradgley Rodriguez<\/a> recorded the final out of the eighth inning, sticking with the sinker to strike out Brice Matthews<\/a>. Rodriguez\u2019s appearance earned him the win after an El Paso rally, his first win as a Chihuahua. Ron Marinaccio<\/a> wound up earning the save with a scoreless ninth, inducing a double play and getting Jon Singleton<\/a> to line out to Tim Locastro<\/a> in left field.\u00a0<\/p>\n

At the plate, Yonathan Perlaza had himself a three-hit day, hitting his seventh home run of the season off right-hander Jason Alexander<\/a>. Rodolfo Duran<\/a> hit two RBI singles in the game, driving in his 21st and 22nd runs of the season while also stealing a base. Clay Dungan had three hits in the game, though the Chihuahuas\u2019 second baseman saved his biggest for the eighth inning. Facing right-hander Luis Contreras<\/a>, Dungan launched a 92.9 mph fastball out to right-center field at 105.3 mph, hitting his ninth home run of the season and giving El Paso a 6-5 lead, and ultimately the win.\u00a0<\/p>\n

San Antonio Missions (Won 2-0 vs Midland) (42-32 on the season)<\/p>\n

Ripken Reyes<\/a> \u2013 1-for-4, RBI Single<\/p>\n

Romeo Sanabria<\/a> \u2013 1-for-4, RBI Single<\/p>\n

Jared Kollar<\/a> \u2013 4 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K (61 pitches \u2013 39 strikes)<\/p>\n

Jared Kollar tossed four shutout innings as he and three Missions relievers combined to shut out the first-half champion Midland RockHounds by a 2-0 final. Kollar bounced back from his last three outings (14.04 ERA) to hold a potent Midland offense to two singles and a walk. Kollar struck out two, getting whiffs on 30% of swings against him. J.B. Wendelken<\/a> struck out two in two scoreless innings, earning his first Double-A win since 2015. Andrew Moore<\/a> struck out four in two innings of relief and has pitched to a 3.09 ERA since joining the Padres organization. Ryan Och<\/a> earned his second save of the season in a scoreless ninth inning.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Missions\u2019 lineup made the most of their opportunities facing A\u2019s No. 25 prospect Chen Zhong-Ao Zhuang<\/a>, as they scored both their runs off the right-hander. The team showed signs of life in the fourth before breaking through in the fifth inning. Kai Murphy<\/a> and Jake Snider<\/a> led off the inning with singles. The runners moved up on a pickoff error by Zhuang, and the error would prove to be consequential, as Rikpen Reyes hit a bunt single to score Murphy. From a bunt to a bolt, the offense went, with Romeo Sanabria lining a single of his own to right field to score Snider. While the inning ended on a double play one batter later, the Missions capitalized on the error to claw their way to a win.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In other Missions news, catcher Ethan Salas<\/a> has begun to rehab at the Padres\u2019 Arizona Complex. Salas, who is returning from back spasms, has not yet been cleared to swing, but is tracking pitches from a hitting stance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fort Wayne TinCaps (Won 2-1 vs Great Lakes) (36-37 on the season)<\/p>\n

Eric Yost<\/a> \u2013 5.1 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 4 BB, 5 K (88 pitches \u2013 48 strikes)<\/p>\n

Leo De Vries hit a walk-off single off the right field to win the game for Fort Wayne. De Vries had two base hits in the game, and while both were singles, his exit velocities were back in line with the high standard he has set. De Vries\u2019 walk-off base hit was lined to right at 106 mph according to the TinCaps\u2019 broadcast.\u00a0 Jack Costello had two singles and scored in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Oswaldo Linares<\/a>. Sean Barnett<\/a> singled and walked in the game, with his ninth-inning leadoff single setting the stage for El Mutante\u2019s heroics.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Right-hander Eric Yost outdueled another top prospect in Dodgers No. 20 prospect Maddux Bruns<\/a>. Yost tossed 5.2 innings of one-run baseball, striking out five batters. Yost walked four, but induced a double play among six ground ball outs generated by the right-hander. Yost\u2019s command was not as sharp as in past outings, as he plunked two batters and walked the aforementioned four, but he was cruising for a majority of the game, with three of the four walks coming within his last three outs recorded. Fernando Sanchez<\/a> dominated the Loons for 2.1 innings of scoreless relief, and Garrett Hawkins<\/a> tossed a scoreless ninth to earn his sixth win of the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t look now, but this Storm is getting hot! Does that make sense? Not necessarily, but the Storm rattled off their third consecutive win over the Modesto Nuts, 11-5. Abraham Parra started for the Storm, and while he allowed five runs (three earned) on eight hits, he did manage seven strikeouts. Those seven punchouts were a career-high for the Caracas, Venezuela native. Despite the early exit for Parra, three relievers went on to hold the Nuts scoreless over the game\u2019s final five innings. Tanner Musgrove earned the win, striking out two in 1.2 scoreless innings. Adam Conrad<\/a> returned to his dominant form, tossing 2.1 innings of hitless baseball. Former Ivy Leaguer Tanner Smith<\/a> threw a scoreless ninth with a strikeout in the win, sealing the game for Lake Elsinore.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The bats were the true thunder, as the Storm hit three homers and tallied eleven runs. Zach Evans opened the scoring with a three-run home run, his third of the season. Yimy Tovar<\/a> hit his third double in eight games with the Storm to score the team\u2019s fourth run, cutting the deficit to one run. B.Y. Choi<\/a> tied the game with an RBI fielder\u2019s choice, and the game went into the fifth tied at five. Kavares Tears<\/a> broke the tie with his ninth homer of the season, opening the door for a five-run inning. Victor Figueroa<\/a> launched an opposite-field double to score two runs, his 10th of the season at the time. Kaden Hollow singled to score Figueroa, and a forceout from Chase Valentine<\/a> three batters later scored Hollow. The team\u2019s final run would come in the bottom of the seventh, when Kaden Hollow sent a deep drive to center field for his second home run of the season. Cobb Hightower<\/a> reached base twice in the game, and every Storm batter reached base at least once in a team-effort win.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In a Saturday matinee, the DSL Padres Gold scored nine unanswered runs to win 9-2 over the DSL Brewers Gold. This offense\u2019s performance was no fool\u2019s gold; five extra base hits and four walks helped lead the team to a win. Eddson Martinez had three of the runs driven in, clearing the bases on a triple. Fabian Alcantara hit his fourth home run of the season, a solo home run in the third inning. Deivid Coronil<\/a> hit his first triple of the season, one of two triples in the game. Kevin Tamburini<\/a> and Eduarlin Tejeda<\/a> hit doubles in the game, each driving in a run. Jeronimo Palmeros allowed two runs in 2.2 innings, striking out five batters. Florangel Vasquez<\/a> earned the win with 1.1 innings of scoreless relief, while Miguel Alvarez<\/a> picked up the save with two scoreless innings, striking out two batters along the way.\u00a0<\/p>\n

DSL Padres Brown (Won 5-1 vs DSL CLE Mendoza) (11-7 on the season)<\/p>\n

Josias Figuereo<\/a> \u2013 5 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K<\/p>\n

Right-hander Josias Figuereo continues to have a solid start to his pro career, with Saturday\u2019s start being his magnum opus thus far. The right-hander struck out a career-high five batters over five shutout innings of baseball. Figuereo has a 2.00 ERA in 18 innings over his first four starts, with his 3.32 FIP reinforcing his strong performance. The Padres Brown\u2019s offense did their part in conducting the team to victory, as Abraham Bastidas\u2019 RBI double in the third inning gave the team a 1-0 lead. The Padres Brown would never trail in the game; they would only lead. Sebastian Pena<\/a> singled to score a second run in the sixth, and Bastidas rejoined the RBI party with his second RBI hit of the game in the seventh (an RBI single). Dayquer Alfonzo<\/a> continues to be one of the team\u2019s sneakiest clutch performers, hitting an RBI double in the eighth. Clay Winklaar\u2019s second hit of the game scored the fifth and final run for the Padres. Ariel Dilone made his pro debut with a scoreless inning of work, striking out one. Wilfred Paca<\/a> allowed a run in two innings of work, and Jeuris Guzman<\/a> closed out the win with a 1-2-3 ninth, his fourth consecutive scoreless outing. <\/p>\n
