The Glenwood-Lowry Legion 18U baseball improved to 8-5 this summer with a pair of close victories on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Glenwood-Lowry defeated Anoka 3-1 in game one of the day, then beat Belle Plaine 4-3 in game two.<\/p>\n

Anoka scored on a wild pitch to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning, but a pair of runs on errors in the bottom of the third inning gave Glenwood-Lowry a 2-1 lead. An insurance run on a Conner Erickson sacrifice fly sealed a 3-1 win for Glenwood-Lowry.<\/p>\n

Marc Gruber earned the win on the mound for Glenwood-Lowry in game one on Saturday. He struck out five batters, allowing just one run on two hits in seven innings pitched.<\/p>\n

Glenwood-Lowry jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the second inning against Belle Plaine, scoring on an error, a Nathan Dell sacrifice fly, and a Gruber RBI single.<\/p>\n

Belle Plaine tied the game with a trio of runs in the bottom of the third inning. A Levi Johnson RBI single in the top of the fifth inning gave Glenwood-Lowry a 4-3 lead. Glenwood-Lowry held on to win 4-3.<\/p>\n

Alex Panitzke earned the win on the mound for Glenwood-Lowry in game two. Panitzke struck out seven batters in five innings, allowing only three hits and three runs. Nathan Dell earned the save for Glenwood-Lowry. Dell struck out three batters in two innings, allowing no runs and one hit.<\/p>\n
