ARLINGTON \u2014 Texas Rangers<\/a> right fielder Adolis Garc\u00eda<\/a> told left fielder Alejandro Osuna that his home run was coming after Monday night\u2019s loss to the Baltimore Orioles.<\/p>\n

When Osuna talked to his twin brother Tuesday morning, his twin said almost the exact same thing.<\/p>\n

In his first two plate appearances in Tuesday night\u2019s 10-2 win against the Orioles<\/a>, it didn\u2019t look like it was going to happen. Osuna grounded out to third and then struck out.<\/p>\n

As Osuna went back to the dugout after his strikeout, he passed Garc\u00eda, who was on base. Garc\u00eda had a piece of advice for the rookie.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey bro, you\u2019re pushing too much your shoulder,\u201d Osuna remembers Garc\u00eda telling him. \u201cTry to get more to the middle.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his next at bat, and taking Garc\u00eda\u2019s advice, Osuna hit his first home run in the major leagues<\/a>. <\/p>\n

When he made it back to the dugout, Osuna made sure to stop by Garc\u00eda.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey, Bombi, you told me,\u201d Osuna said.<\/p>\n

The 383-foot, two-run home run came barely a month after Osuna made his debut with the Rangers on May 25. Osuna took the roster spot of designated hitter Joc Pederson, who fractured his right hand the day prior.<\/p>\n

Osuna had a minor league slash line of .279\/.386\/.416\/.801 between Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock this year, but had only four hits in 15 games for the Rangers in June.<\/p>\n

Tuesday\u2019s home run was also only his second extra-base hit of his career, and it extended the Rangers\u2019 lead from 3-2 to 5-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s nothing like your first home run in the major leagues,\u201d Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said after the game. \u201c[Osuna] plays with so much energy. He had a big smile, and it\u2019s a big home run, really just extending the lead there.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Rangers\u2019 2024 minor league player of the year said that since his first day his goal was to do things right and help his team win.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd finally,\u201d Osuna said. \u201cI did something.\u201d<\/p>\n
