How big is Dave Dombrowski willing to go for the Philadelphia Phillies during the trade deadline? That seems to be a question around Major League Baseball, as the Phillies have multiple holes that they need to fill.<\/p>\n

One could argue that the Phillies need to continue to go all in, as they likely don’t have many more years of contending for a World Series.<\/p>\n

However, it’s also fair to suggest that trading someone like Aidan Miller doesn’t make sense unless the Phillies believe they can acquire the perfect player in return.<\/p>\n

They could find said player, but that isn’t a guarantee.<\/p>\n

Despite that, Matt Postins recently named him a prospect to watch at the deadline, adding that he could be traded if others are off limits.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf one believes that starting pitcher Andrew Painter and outfielder Justin Crawford are off-limits, then Miller would be a good place to start for prospective teams. Trea Turner blocks his path to the Majors. Barring a position change, it could be a while before he hits the majors.<\/p>\n

It\u2019d make more sense if the Phillies moved on from Justin Crawford, but it’s also fair to suggest that more teams would be interested in Miller.<\/p>\n

Crawford is excellent and has proven that in Triple-A, but he’s still yet to make his big league debut, and given his numbers in Triple-A, that’s somewhat telling, given the Phillies’ outfield issues.<\/p>\n
