In total, the repairs are \u201cestimated to cost\u201d $6.9M, though the \u201cfunding mechanism for the projects has yet to be determined.\u201d The projects come after a recent facilities condition assessment showed that the Astros ballpark will need $836.5M in \u201cmaintenance over the next 20 years.\u201d The most expensive of the recently approved projects is \u201cfor sunshade steel repainting on the permanent roof structures over the mezzanine and the first and third base seating,\u201d which the Astros expect to cost $3.4M. The other $3.5M is \u201cfor future repair needs, including HVAC repairs, fire alarm replacements and lighting controls replacements.\u201d The most expensive of these projects is the \u201ccontrols upgrade for the retractable roof, which is expected to cost\u201d $2.3M.
