The trade was completed moments before first pitch of the series finale between the two teams.<\/p>\n<p>The Dodgers traded Berroa just under one week after he was designated for assignment as the <a href=\"https:\/\/dodgerblue.com\/dodgers-roster-cj-alexander-claimed-waivers-steward-berroa-designated-for-assignment\/2025\/07\/03\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">corresponding roster move to the claiming CJ Alexander<\/a> off waivers from the New York Yankees. <\/p>\n<p>Berroa joined the Dodgers organization on May 12 in a <a href=\"https:\/\/dodgerblue.com\/dodgers-acquire-steward-berroa-from-blue-jays\/2025\/05\/12\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">trade that sent cash considerations to the Toronto Blue Jays<\/a>. The deal was completed five days after Berroa had been DFA\u2019d by the Blue Jays.<\/p>\n<p>He signed with Toronto as an international free agent out of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in 2016. Berroa made his MLB debut last year but appeared in just 28 games for the Blue Jays.<\/p>\n<p>Berroa reported to Triple-A Oklahoma City after being acquired by the Dodgers. He hit .330\/.424\/.433 with seven doubles, one home run and 11 RBI over 27 games with the Comets. Berroa also added 11 stolen bases in 14 attempts. <\/p>\n<p>Berroa\u2019s best asset is his speed, as he\u2019s stolen more than 40 bases in six different Minor League seasons. Berroa had a career-high 58 stolen bases in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Including time with Triple-A Buffalo before being traded to the Dodgers, Berroa has a combined 20 stolen bases in the Minors so far this year.<\/p>\n<p> Did Steward Berroa play for Dodgers? <\/p>\n<p>Berroa never got into a game with the Dodgers nor was he recalled from Oklahoma City during his time with the organization. <\/p>\n<p>He also won\u2019t appear in Wednesday\u2019s game against them as the Brewers immediately optioned Berroa to Triple-A Nashville and placed him on the injured list with right shoulder bursitis.<\/p>\n<p>Elvin Rodr\u00edguez was designated for assignment in order to make room for Berroa on the Brewers\u2019 40-man roster.<\/p>\n<p>Have you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/c\/dodgerblue1958\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">subscribed to the Dodger Blue YouTube channel<\/a>?
