Similar to many games this season, Missouri baseball found itself staring into the face of a crushing deficit, with Friday night’s being a 6-1 hole against Texas A&M at the end of the third inning.<\/p>\n
Instead of wilt, the Tigers rallied, scoring two runs in the fifth and six in the ninth to earn a 9-6 victory over the Aggies in College Station, Texas.<\/p>\n
The win snapped MU’s program-worst 12-game losing streak and was the Tigers’ first Southeastern Conference victory of the season.<\/p>\n
After freshman right-hander Brady Kehlenbrink allowed six runs on five hits in 2\u2153 innings, Mizzou’s bullpen shut down the Aggies (27-21, 10-15). Senior righty Kaden Jacobi struck out two in\u00a02\u2154 innings, junior righty Brock Lucas struck out three in two innings, and graduate righty Xavier Lovett needed just 19 pitches to breeze through two innings and earn the win.<\/p>\n
Junior shortstop Jackson Lovich \u2014 who hit a two-run home run in the fifth \u2014 started the ninth-inning rally with an RBI infield single, and sophomore center fielder Kaden Peer followed with a two-run double that tied it at 6.<\/p>\n
Lovich and Peer raced home on a throwing error to give Mizzou (14-35, 1-24) the lead, and redshirt freshman left fielder Tyler Macon scored on a wild pitch.<\/p>\n
Game 2 of the series is slated for 2 p.m. Saturday.<\/p>\n

Senior Charlie Werth paced the Cougars with a fifth-place finish in the 1,500-meter Section 3 run with a time of 3 minutes, 56.93 seconds. Sophomore Oscar Curry took sixth in the 1,500 Section 2 run with a time of 3:54.17.<\/p>\n
Senior Will Cherrington placed 11th in the 10,000 with a time of 31:12.31, and sophomore Kalieb Redda finished 18th in the 5,000 (14:53.58).<\/p>\n
