After losing on Friday night<\/a>, the San Francisco Giants<\/a> will look to even their series against the Minnesota Twins<\/a> on Saturday. And both teams will be competing not just for a victory, but for eyeballs, as their cities\u2019 respective NBA teams will tip-off in a crucial playoff game an hour and 15 minutes after the start of the baseball game. I hope you all have two TVs!<\/p>\n

Ironically, the pitching matchup is probably inverse in terms of rooting interest in the aforementioned basketball game. For the Giants, it\u2019s right-hander Logan Webb, a Rocklin native who is openly a huge Sacramento Kings fan, which comes with a certain amount of disdain for the Golden State Warriors<\/a>. Basketball allegiances notwithstanding, Webb has been fantastic this year in an NL-leading eight starts, going 4-2 with a 2.61 ERA, a 1.87 FIP, and 56 strikeouts to 13 walks in 48.1 innings. He leads the National League in FIP and in home runs allowed per nine innings, as he\u2019s given up just one big fly all year. Webb was sensational his last time out, ceding just one run in seven innings against the Colorado Rockies<\/a>. <\/p>\n

For the Twins, it\u2019s righty Joe Ryan, who was born in San Francisco, played high school ball at Sir Francis Drake, and attended Cal State Stanislaus (he was also drafted by the Giants in 2014, but as a high schooler taken in the 39th round, he didn\u2019t sign). Needless to say, I would assume he\u2019ll be pulling for the Warriors tonight. In seven starts this season, Ryan is 2-2 with a 2.93 ERA, a 3.46 FIP, and 47 strikeouts against just five walks in 40 innings. He\u2019s allowed just one run in 13 innings over his last two starts. <\/p>\n
