Stephen Kolek<\/a> \u2013 3 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K (60 pitches \u2013 39 strikes)<\/p>\n

El Paso tied the game at five in the ninth inning, but fell in the 12th inning. Stephen Kolek started for the Chihuahuas and went three innings, tossing 60 pitches and allowing one run. Kyle Hart<\/a> tossed in relief, throwing 3.2 innings and striking out four. Hart allowed two runs in his outing, but pitched efficiently, tossing 48 pitches. Ron Marinaccio<\/a> allowed two runs in 1.1 innings, and Jose Espada<\/a> allowed an unearned run in the tenth inning. Sean Reynolds<\/a> exited the inning without further damage. Francis Pena<\/a> tossed two innings, and in each frame allowed the automatic runner to score, taking the loss.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Forrest Wall had a two-hit day, doubling and driving in two runs. Clay Dungan<\/a> hit his 11th home run of the season, scoring two runs in the game. Tim Locastro scored two runs, hitting a single and double in the loss. Yonathan Perlaza<\/a> doubled to score a run, with his double being his 31st of the season. Brandon Lockridge<\/a> and Luis Campusano<\/a> went hitless in the loss.\u00a0<\/p>\n

San Antonio Missions (Won 4-2 vs Wichita) (48-38 on the season)<\/p>\n

Romeo Sanabria<\/a> \u2013 3-for-4, Three Singles, Two Runs Scored<\/p>\n

Kai Murphy<\/a> \u2013 1-for-3, Sac Fly, Two RBI<\/p>\n

Henry Baez<\/a> \u2013 6 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 4 K (92 pitches \u2013 59 strikes)<\/p>\n

Right-hander Henry Baez continues to have himself a dominant campaign, as he again pitched lights-out baseball. Baez struck out four batters in six innings, recording eight outs on the ground. Baez has now pitched scoreless starts in six of his last eight starts, and has a 1.61 ERA in that span as well. Kevin Kopps<\/a> allowed an unearned run in the seventh, pitching in line for the win after the Missions took the lead. Stephen Jones<\/a> pitched 1.2 innings, nearly recording the two-inning save, but after a two-out, ninth-inning double allowed to Walker Jenkins<\/a>, Ethan Routzahn<\/a> came in and closed out the win.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Romeo Sanabria is hitting his stride in the month of July, notching three hits for the second consecutive game. Sanabria scored two runs in the game and was one of two Missions with multiple hits. Devin Ortiz<\/a> finished with two hits and one run scored, driving in a run on an RBI single. Kai Murphy drove in a pair of runs in the game, as he hit a sacrifice fly and reached base on a fielder\u2019s choice that scored a run. Brandon Valenzuela<\/a> did not play in the game.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fort Wayne TinCaps (Won 11-8 vs Quad Cities) (43-42 on the season)<\/p>\n

Brandon Butterworth<\/a> \u2013 4-for-5, Two Home Runs<\/p>\n

Braedon Karpathios<\/a> \u2013 4-for-5, Double, Three RBI<\/p>\n

Eric Yost<\/a> \u2013 5 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 2 BB, 4 K (89 pitches \u2013 55 strikes)<\/p>\n

The Killer B\u2019s of Fort Wayne continued to shoulder the load, as Braedon Karpathios and Brandon Butterworth each had four hits. Butterworth hit two home runs in the game, driving in three runs in the game. Braedon Karpathios had four hits, including a two-RBI double in the first inning. Rosman Verdugo<\/a> had one hit, scoring two runs in the game. Kaden Hollow<\/a> and Jack Costello<\/a> each had two hits, with Hollow driving in a run. Ryan Jackson<\/a> had an RBI single as well, with all starters reaching base at least once. Butterworth\u2019s eighth-inning home run gave the TinCaps a lead that would only be extended.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Eric Yost allowed four runs in five innings, striking out four batters. Yost generated seven outs on the ground, including a double play grounder, and worked around seven hits allowed. While Yost\u2019s stuff is not the sort that will be loved by Stuff+ models, he has been able to tunnel his fastball-sweeper combo for effective results. Will Varmette<\/a> pitched three innings of relief, allowing four hits and two homers. Varmette struck out four batters in his outing, and while his transition to High-A hasn\u2019t been the smoothest, it is only a matter of time until he finds his footing. Nick Wissman<\/a> threw a scoreless ninth inning to earn his first career save.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lake Elsinore Storm (Lost 11-3 vs Visalia) (39-47 on the season)<\/p>\n

Cobb Hightower<\/a> \u2013 2-for-5, RBI Single<\/p>\n

Victor Figueroa<\/a> \u2013 1-for-4, Two-RBI Single<\/p>\n

Bryan Balzer<\/a> \u2013 0.2 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 2 BB, 1 K (32 pitches \u2013 17 strikes)<\/p>\n

Bryan Balzer failed to make it out of the first inning, allowing four runs on three hits and two walks. Returning from injury recently, Balzer has not been the same compared to his early-season form, struggling to put batters away. Tanner Musgrove allowed four runs in one inning, walking three batters. Adam Conrad<\/a> ended the second inning, allowing one run of his own, and pitched two scoreless innings after the second. Kleiber Olmedo<\/a> struck out four in 2.2 innings of two-run baseball, and Tanner Smith<\/a> allowed no runs in 1.1 innings of his own.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Storm\u2019s offense was only able to score three runs all game, stymied by Visalia\u2019s Wilkin Paredes<\/a>. Cobb Hightower had two hits, with an RBI single in the sixth inning. Victor Figueroa got two runs on the board on a two-RBI single. Kavares Tears<\/a> and Chase Valentine<\/a> both doubled in the loss, and Lamar King<\/a> Jr hit two singles, reaching base three times.\u00a0<\/p>\n

ACL Padres (Won 4-1 vs ACL Dodgers) (13-39 on the season)<\/p>\n

A pair of rehabbing ballplayers helped pave the way for an ACL Padres win. Alex McCoy, in his first rehab game, doubled to score the Padres\u2019 first run of the game. Ismael Javier<\/a> also singled in the first inning, extending the team\u2019s lead to 2-0. Kasen Wells<\/a> finished the game with one hit in two at-bats, drawing a walk and stealing a base. Jesmaylin Arias hit a home run in the second inning, his third of the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Erick Batista started for the Padres, tossing three innings in a seven-inning game. Batista struck out five batters in the game, allowing one run on three hits. Alejandro Lugo<\/a> struck out four batters in two innings of work, not allowing a run. Xavier Ruiz<\/a> struck out two batters in one inning, and Yovannki Pascual<\/a> loaded the bases in the ninth with two outs, but left the bases loaded with a strikeout.\u00a0<\/p>\n

DSL Padres Gold (Won 7-3 vs DSL Red Sox Red) (20-10 on the season)<\/p>\n

Santiago Contreras<\/a> \u2013 1-for-2, Two-RBI Single<\/p>\n

Jeronimo Palmeros<\/a> \u2013 4 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 1 BB, 5 K<\/p>\n

The Padres Gold scored seven unanswered runs to win 7-3. Jeronimo Palmeros allowed a three-run home run to Kevin Morillo<\/a> in the fourth, but that would be all the scoring the Padres Gold allowed. Palmeros struck out five in his outing. Santiago Contreras chipped away at the deficit with a two-RBI single, and Kevin Tamburini<\/a> tied the game on a sacrifice fly. Fabian Alcantara scored on a wild pitch to give the Friars a 4-3 lead, and another wild pitch in the next frame allowed Eduarlin Tejeda<\/a> to score. Moises Valdez<\/a> scored on a throwing error on a pickoff in the sixth to extend the lead to 6-3, and Eddson Martinez<\/a> scored on a groundout from Tejeda for the Padres\u2019 seventh run. Miguel Alvarez<\/a> struck out five in three scoreless innings to earn the win.\u00a0<\/p>\n

DSL Padres Brown (Lost 11-2 vs DSL Reds) (15-14 on the season)<\/p>\n

Cristian Benavides<\/a> \u2013 1-for-4, Two-Run Home Run<\/p>\n

Kaden Hernandez<\/a> \u2013 2-for-4, Double<\/p>\n

Josias Figuereo<\/a> \u2013 3.1 IP, 4 H, 5 R (3 ER), 5 BB, 0 K<\/p>\n

Josias Figuereo allowed five runs while being chased from the game in the fourth inning, and Victor Pilar<\/a> allowed five runs of his own in 1.1 innings as the Padres Brown lost 11-2. The pitching staff struggled mightily, walking 10 and striking out only one batter all game long. Cristian Benavides had the team\u2019s only run-scoring hit of the game, with his eighth-inning homer giving the Padres Brown their only two runs of the game. Kaden Hernandez had two base hits, including a double, but being held to one hit in six innings held the Padres Brown back from a win. <\/p>\n
