The Cincinnati Reds<\/a>‘ rotation is set coming out of the All-Star break, and the pitchers involved have their marching orders.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Reds manager Terry Francona and pitching coach Derek Johnson confirmed the pitchers’ order to begin the second half of 2025:<\/p>\n

Nick Martinez (6-9, 4.85 ERA, prior to Sunday’s start) \u2212 Saturday, July 19: Reds vs. New York Mets, Citi Field. 4:10 p.m.<\/p>\n

Andrew Abbott <\/a>(8-1, 2.07 ERA) \u2212 Sunday, July 20: Reds vs. New York Mets, Citi Field. 1:40 p.m.<\/p>\n

Brady Singer (7-7, 4.32 ERA) \u2212 Monday, July 21: Reds vs. Washington Nationals<\/a>, Nationals Park. 6:45 p.m.<\/p>\n

Chase Burns (0-1, 6.19 ERA) \u2212 Tuesday, July 22: Reds vs. Washington Nationals, Nationals Park. 6:45 p.m.<\/p>\n

Nick Lodolo has moved to the top of the rotation coming out of the All-Star Break. With Hunter Greene still on the injured list, Lodolo will be followed by Nick Martinez, Andrew Abbott, Brady Singer and rookie Chase Burns.<\/p>\n

The Reds begin the second half of the season with a six-game road trip against the New York Mets (55-41 entering Sunday) and Washington Nationals (38-57).<\/p>\n

Francona had previously suggested Burns would be placed toward the back end of the rotation, and that’s where he landed. The organization will watch closely as the rookie pitcher with four big league starts to his name continues to rack up innings following his 13 minor league starts this spring.<\/p>\n

“We’re aware. I don’t know that you can map it (the innings) out,” Francona said. “You can try to use logic and common sense. I think, too, you watch with your eyes. Very important. Sometimes a number can be a little bit of a cop out, so just pay attention.”<\/p>\n

There is no timetable to when ace Hunter Greene, here with manager Terry Francona, will be back with the Reds. “He will stay in Arizona until he’s ready to pitch,” Francona said.<\/p>\n

As for any further starting pitching depth becoming available, Opening Day starter Hunter Greene and Carson Spiers were discussed.<\/p>\n

Greene, who returned to the Reds’ Player Development Complex in Goodyear, Arizona this week, has a possible bullpen session scheduled for Monday or Tuesday, Francona said.<\/p>\n

Beyond that, there’s no timeline for when Greene could return to the Reds.<\/p>\n

“He will stay in Arizona until he’s ready to pitch,” Francona said, “and he may even pitch once there. We’ll see kind of, in coordination with him, how he feels and what everybody thinks is kind of in his best interest.”<\/p>\n

Spiers was scheduled to pitch a maximum of either five innings or 75 pitches on Sunday for Triple-A Louisville, Francona said.<\/p>\n
