Padres affiliates closed out their week of games with a 3-1 finish on Sunday.<\/p>\n

El Paso Chihuahuas (Won 6-3 vs Las Vegas) (49-44 on the season)<\/p>\n

Nate Mondou<\/a> \u2013 1-for-4, Two-RBI Triple<\/p>\n

Matt Waldron<\/a> \u2013 6 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 3 BB, 3 K (90 pitches \u2013 64 strikes)<\/p>\n

In a matchup between two arms with MLB experience, Matt Waldron and the Chihuahuas emerged victorious, taking down the Aviators by a 6-3 final score. Waldron was staked out to a 3-0 lead after the first inning when Clay Dungan<\/a> singled to score Tim Locastro<\/a>, and Yonathan Perlaza homered four pitches later to extend the lead to 3-0. Brandon Lockridge<\/a> reached base twice in the game, stealing one base, and Forrest Wall<\/a> stole two bases in the game. One of these steals came on the tail end of a double steal, allowing Brandon Lockridge to steal home to score a run. Nate Mondou had one hit in the game, but it was a big one, a two-run triple to push the lead to 6-2. Tim Locastro drew two walks, scoring two runs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Matt Waldron pitched a quality start for the Chihuahuas, allowing two runs in six innings. A two-run homer by Daniel Susac<\/a> accounted for all the damage against him. Waldron struck out three batters while walking three, with an even balance of five outs on the ground and in the air. Waldron got ten whiffs on the day, with two of his strikeouts being swinging. Raul Brito<\/a> struck out the side in the sixth, and Harold Chirino<\/a> allowed a run in 0.2 innings. Eduarniel Nunez<\/a> earned his third save for the Chihuahuas, tossing a scoreless ninth.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Devin Ortiz\u2019s two-home run game propelled the Missions to victory on Sunday. Ortiz matched his season home run total in just one game, launching both homers to left field. Albert Fabian hit his second homer with San Antonio in the seventh inning, as Fabian finished 2-for-4. Ripken Reyes<\/a> finished with three hits out of the leadoff spot, scoring a run. Romeo Sanabria<\/a> and Brandon Valenzuela<\/a> had back-to-back RBI doubles, each plating a run.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Victor Lizarraga continues to work his way back from an injury scare, and the right-hander lasted three innings. He allowed one run on two hits, which was optimistic, but he also walked four. The right-hander did strike out four batters, his highest total since returning from injury. Jose Geraldo<\/a> earned the win with a scoreless inning, and Jared Kollar<\/a> pitched well in long relief. Kollar tossed four innings of two-run baseball, allowing only three hits and striking out two. Despite allowing two baserunners in the ninth, Tyson Neighbors<\/a> locked down the win with a scoreless frame.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fort Wayne TinCaps (Lost 6-2 vs Quad Cities) (43-43 on the season)<\/p>\n

Brendan Durfee<\/a> \u2013 1-for-3, RBI Double<\/p>\n

Braedon Karpathios<\/a> \u2013 1-for-5, Single, RBI<\/p>\n

Luis Gutierrez<\/a> \u2013 5 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 8 K (89 pitches \u2013 55 strikes)<\/p>\n

Despite a strong start from Luis Gutierrez, the TinCaps bullpen allowed four runs in a 6-2 loss. Gutierrez threw five innings of work for the TinCaps, allowing five hits and two runs. Gutierrez struck out eight batters in the game, matching his season-high (May 18 vs Fresno). The left-hander has adjusted very well to High-A, posting a 2.45 ERA in his first five starts with the \u2018Caps. Luis German<\/a> allowed one run in two innings of work, and Sean Barnett<\/a> was tagged for three runs in one inning of relief.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The TinCaps posted nine hits in the game, but were only able to drive across two runs. Brendan Durfee doubled to score Kai Roberts<\/a>, and Braedon Karpathios drove in a run on a fielder\u2019s choice double play. Kai Roberts had three singles in the game, scoring one run. Rosman Verdugo<\/a> and Ryan Jackson<\/a> each reached base twice. The team went 1-for-16 with runners in scoring position in the loss.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lake Elsinore Storm (Won 3-2 vs Visalia) (40-47 on the season)<\/p>\n

Victor Figueroa<\/a> \u2013 4-for-4, Double, Run Scored<\/p>\n

Cobb Hightower<\/a> \u2013 1-for-3, Single, Two RBI<\/p>\n

Abraham Parra<\/a> \u2013 5 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 6 K (90 pitches \u2013 57 strikes)<\/p>\n

Victor Figueroa was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate in the Storm\u2019s win over the Visalia Rawhide. Figueroa had three singles and a double, scoring a run in the game. The Storm shuffled their lineup, with Cobb Hightower moving to the three-hole. Hightower promptly made the move look genius, driving in two runs in the game. Kale Fountain<\/a> and Kavares Tears<\/a> each had a base hit, with Tears driving in a run on a sacrifice fly. Chase Valentine<\/a> reached base three times out of the leadoff spot, scoring two runs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Abraham Parra continues to show improvement in every subsequent start, as he allowed two runs in five innings against the Rawhide. Parra struck out six batters, walking only two. The Venezuela native has struck out six or more batters in his last three starts, and he looks to be en route to a solid summer. Vicarte Domingo was again dominant out of the bullpen, striking out two in three scoreless innings on 38 pitches. Igor Gil<\/a> worked around two baserunners in the ninth to pick up his second save of the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
