The Major League Baseball All-Star Game looked over for 2025. The National League led 6-0. And then the American League staged an incredible rally to tie it 6-6 after nine innings.<\/p>\n

There would be no extra innings, though.<\/p>\n

A rule change implemented in 2022 turned this into a Home Run Derby.<\/p>\n

Three batters from each side would get three swings apiece. The most league homers out of those nine swings would be the game’s winner.<\/p>\n

The AL picked Brent Rooker from the A’s, Randy Arozarena from the Mariners and Jonathan Aranda of the Rays.<\/p>\n

The NL chose Kyle Stowers from the Marlins, Kyle Schwarber from the Phillies and Pete Alonso from the Mets.<\/p>\n

Schwarber was the hero.<\/p>\n

Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal asked him before he strolled to the plate if he was feeling any pressure. “A little bit,” Schwarber replied with a chuckle.<\/p>\n

Pressure makes diamonds.<\/p>\n

Schwarber went to the plate with the NL down 3-1. He left with a 4-3 lead.<\/p>\n

The Phillies superstar lined a laser to center for his first homer, hit a moonshot to right-center for his second and leaned down on one knee to crank one down the right-field line for his third.<\/p>\n

With Home Run Derby legend Pete Alonso bringing up the final spot, Schwarber had given the NL a lead it wouldn’t relinquish. And Alonso didn’t even have to hit, because Aranda didn’t leave the yard and the 4-3 lead held up as the final derby score.<\/p>\n

It was a historic night in Major League Baseball, and Schwarber stole the spotlight with three of the most legendary swings of his baseball life.<\/p>\n
